Located in Snohomish County, Peace Love Yoga was created in November 2014 by Hester Sylvia and Anna Folsom. We invite yogis of all levels to join us, from the Sky Valley and beyond.
Anna Folsom, RYT My yoga journey began in my early twenties. There was no consistency in my practice at that time, maybe because of my age or short attention span, and I could never settle on a particular yoga style or teacher. But I kept taking classes on and off for many years, always being drawn back to yoga. Fast forward to 2011 when I discovered a studio I really loved and a teacher that seemed to mesh with who I was at the time. I committed to a regular weekly practice and started asking questions about becoming a yoga instructor. In April 2013 my family moved to Index and thanks to a terrific and inspiring teacher my personal practice exploded and I signed up for the next available teacher training. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to teach and hope to continue honing my skills and exploring new styles of yoga through trainings and workshops and taking classes from experienced instructors. You learn something new every day!
Hester Sylvia, RYT I was introduced to yoga about 10 years ago and fell in love with it. I casually practiced with friends and the occasional studio. About three years ago I began to practice more regularly and just over a year ago began exploring the path of teacher training. In November of 2014 I completed my 200 hour program with an amazing group of women. By December I started teaching to my community along with my friend Anna, and Peace, Love, Yoga was born.
I am very passionate about natural healing and connection to the earth. My first love is dance, if there is music playing, I am dancing. I connected to yoga so deeply because of my love for dance. To me the movement, rhythm, and spiritual expression, of yoga and dance became my bliss, my connection to the Divine.
I am a mother of three small children, 6,4,3 and have been happily married for 7 years. We live in beautiful Index tucked in the cascade mountains. Everyday I am surrounded by impressive views and am filled with gratitude for the life I live. Other things I am passionate about are crystals, gardening, cooking, essential oils, energy work, and reading.
I am excited to offer yoga to my small community and surrounding towns. I look forward to this journey I am embarking on exploring the many different styles of yoga through workshops and continued education. For years I would comment on how I wished there was a yoga studio closer to Index that I could regularly practice with. "Be the change you wish to see"
Gratitude changes everything!
